We accept Animation, Feature Films, Documentaries, Scannan Gaeilge Is Fearr , Student Films, Short Films, Fingal Newcomer Films – (Local Artists in the Fingal Area) International Films, Outstanding Achievement in Media awards (writers – journalists – directors – producers – artists).

Submissions open every year from November until the deadline of June 30th.

Fingal Film Festival also welcomes submissions for their Outstanding Achievement in Media award which is an interactive true events storytelling category. This program includes  an award and celebrates above and beyond the call in documentary film, as a writer, director or producer.  It recognizes creators who employ an innovative, interactive approach – to true events, in incredibly difficult situations.

Through open submissions, selections will be made the following day after the festival to the Media and Press .

There are nine awards a year that are up for grabs, some with amazing prizes:

Key Dates & Terms

The submissions deadlines for the 2017 Festival are as follows:

Deadline for all Films – June 30th 2017 at 3 p.m.

The Final Nine Film Awards – Will be notified on the 14th August 2017

Notification of confirmation of your Film – Confirmation by  email to all applicants is ongoing until the 30th June 2017.


If your film is successfully accepted into 2017 festival, you will receive an email by the 14th July. If your film is not accepted for the 2017 schedule, due to resourcing levels, we will be unable to notify you by email due to the volume of submissions also we are a not for profit organisation and have limited resources. Confirmation by email to ALL Final selection submitters their film has been accepted 14th July 2017

GENERAL RULES – Submitting your film:
For viewing purposes entries should be submitted on DVD or by screening link at the submission stage see above options online to submit your film. NB: If posting a DVD, please label submission clearly on the DVD with film title, contact name, duration, tracking number and email address also with ALL SUBMISSIONS please fill out submission form and email/post it to our pr@fingalfilmfest.com or post to address : Unit 3, Nth Street Business Park, Swords , Co Dublin, Ireland.

All packages/envelopes should be marked NO COMMERCIAL VALUE – FOR CULTURAL PURPOSES ONLY.

  • Applicants will be notified of the status of their submission by email by approximately 14th July 2017
    • Successful applicants will be required to supply a  film print or link to download for screening at FFF 2017
    • You should pay particular attention to the shipping and customs information, which will be sent to you at that time
    • Please note that FFF will acknowledge all receipt of entries, but cannot acknowledge unaccepted films into 2017
    • Only films accepted for screening in 2017 will be notified by the 14th July 2017
    • Preview copies will not be returned
    • All foreign language entries must provide English subtitles
    • Submissions with unpaid fees will not be considered for selection



  • Runtime: Features/Documentaries : minimum 90 minutes Completion Date: Projects completed after June 1, 2017.
  • Place of Origin: Projects may originate from anywhere in the world. All non-English speaking films must have English subtitles.

The Fingal Film Festival (FFF) welcomes unsolicited submissions made in accordance to the regulations below:

Submissions will only be accepted through Film Freeway and online options also Post. * FFF does not pay screening fees. * Films must be presented in their original format and have English language subtitles or commentary where necessary. * When submitting your film please include details of any public screenings and festivals that your film is being exhibited at before FFF 2017. * The selection and scheduling of films screened at the Festival is entirely at the discretion of the Festival Director. * Please ensure that you include a synopsis of no more than 200 words as you would like it to appear in the programme. (NB: Please note that the Festival reserves the right to amend the copy submitted).  * Due to the large amount of submissions received FFF cannot enter into any discussion regarding films that are not selected for the Festival. * The cost of shipping and attending the festival  must be met by the sender. The FFF does not accept any responsibility for damage to postage and press kits  Taking part in FFF implies allowing broadcasting on Irish and foreign televisions and on the Internet (extracts limited to and not exceeding 3 mins.) for the purpose of promoting the Festival. The submitter will agree to screening his/her film in our annual road show that runs after the festival every year. If you do not want to take part in this please state on your submission form *  All copyright and brands , music rights are the Producers responsibility and no liability’s will be accepted from the festival organisers for your film .
